Turmeric Latte
Turmeric is known to be highly anti-inflammatory as is ginger and fantastic for the liver’s detoxification processes as well as healing the gut lining. Cinnamon is delicious and has been shown in studies to support blood sugar balance and insulin sensitivity. This delicious alternative to coffee is easy to make and works best if you have a milk frother although not necessary.
Tip: If you have fresh ginger and turmeric root this is even more potent and you could peel and grate about a Tbs of turmeric and 1/2 a Tbs of ginger into a small cup of hot water instead and leave for 5 minutes and then strain into the milk and heat up as above.
Serves 2
What you need
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinammon
pinch of black pepper (this helps the absorption of the curcumin in turmeric)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Around 400 ml dairy free milk (almond, oat, cashew)
Method
Put everything in a saucepan and whisk or mix together under a gentle heat.
Once hot serve with a sprinkle of cinammon on top
